SDR Apartments

Location: I don’t really like the location of SDR Apartments, it’s a bit away from things, you have to walk about 15 minutes to the nearest mall, Marina Mall, and that mall is not the greatest. Otherwise, when you look out the window of your room, there is not much but flatlands, trees, and I even seen some cows/caribou
Facilities:
The Staff: Was always very nice and kind
The Room: The room was great, big room, big bed, nice couch and tv area with dvd player, a kitchen with stove, a toaster oven, water boiler, fridge full of bottled water, also has cooking utensils, pots, pans, silverware, plates, bowls, just about anything you’ll need for cooking
Extras: FREE high-speed (fibre-optic) 4MB Internet via cable (not a slow and unsecured shared Wi-Fi), I didn’t use this, I was using my Smart Bro instead. I love how there are tons of bottled water in the fridge.
Tip: For quick and cheap food give Cora’s Eatery directly across the street
Negatives: When I stayed there my room was right next to an area of the building they were doing construction, I only stayed 1 night, but that next morning 8-11am early morning I wake up to drilling, pounding, LOUD noises of construction, I was in shock they would actually allow this at so early in the morning, it was insulting to me. I know places need repairs and construction, but I am very against morning hammering, any hotel, apartment or living quarters that do this gets BIG negative points from me. Loud hammering should only be done in afternoon

Golden Prince Hotel

Location: Great location, across the street from Ayala Mall and also right next to a tiny shopping plaza with massage and other nice shops
Facilities: The little restaurant has a menu with American breakfasts and Filipino breakfasts, eggs, corned beef hash, grilled tocino, omelettes and more
The Staff: They were very nice and friendly.
The Room: The room was nice and clean, I had no complaints.

Tip: Breakfast 6:30am – 10:30am

Hotel Casablanca is located in the heart of Cebu City with rates ranging from 1350 – 1600 pesos per night. Wifi is available in all rooms and there is even a coffee shop and convenient store inside the building.

Location: The location is great, near restaurants and laundry services, and a very short taxi ride to Fuente Osmena circle for restaurants and shopping, and very quick to Mango Square nightlife also
Facilities: Casablanca lacks facilities but it does have a little coffee shop called Rick’s Cafe and a convenient store

Marco Polo is a really nice hotel, you can see it as you 1st walk into the lobby, it’s a beautifully decorated lobby and hotel with a very nice swimming pool area, nice spa and sauna, gym, etc. The food there is pretty good, and they have a very well known breakfast buffet that is almost famous here in Cebu. The room I stayed in was pretty nice, it seemed a bit old though, but otherwise was just fine.

Location: I actually hate the location of the Marco Polo, it’s on top of Nivel Hills, so it’s so far away from any of the action, nothing is really walking distance from here, no nightlife or restaurants (except for the ones inside Marco Polo)
Facilities: Marco has great facilities, the sauna is the best one I’ve seen EVER! And it’s open til midnight, but they charged me 500 pesos to use the sauna for just 30 minutes. Also, their gym is ok, and the swimming pool is super fantastic!!!! Pool is open from 6am til 10pm
The Staff: The staff was mostly very nice and friendly, except for the 1 time I was told guests are charged 500php per person, I dont like a hotel trying to make a decision for me of how many people are allowed in my room
The Room: The room had an old fashined kind of look and feel, browns and tans, nothing modern about the hotel room, but it was generally decent
Extras: Free buffet breakfast everyday, I’m loving that! To help with convenience, there is an ATM next to the reception. You can also rent mountain bike (from 6am til 6pm) and some recreational facilities include the very nice swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa, sauna (for charge), and Blu Bar and Grill.
Tip: dont stay at Marco Polo if you plan to enjoy yourself with inviting guests over for swimming, watching movies, or anything, it’s all an extra charge and at that price you might as well stay at the Marriott
Negatives: I asked how much to rent a dvd player, it’s 1000 pesos to rent for 1 day. Also, when we came with a few people to watch movies here they were insisting to add on a 500 pesos charge per extra person.

Cebu City Marriott hotel is usually my #1 choice for accomodations when I visit Cebu, mostly because of it’s friendly staff, it’s rewards program, the 24 hour gym and sauna, the pool, the dinner buffets and especially because the location!!! Right next to Ayala mall, it’s the best located hotel in Cebu in my honest opinion.

Location: No other hotels can beat this Marriott location, it’s right next to Ayala shopping mall, the best mall in Cebu! You walk over there in 3 minutes!
Facilities: The facilities here are wonderful, the pool is always the perfect temperature, the sauna is really small but it’s good enough. The gym is nice but nothing too great, overall it’s great, the fitness center, including the sauna is open 24 hours/day, so you can get fit at anytime of the day!
The Staff: The staff here at Marriott Cebu are super nice, friendly and very accomodating, the service is spectacular and everyone here seems very friendly, it’s a noticeable positive mood, everytime you walk around, the housekeeping, doormen, any employee you see here gives you a nice and friendly smile and a “hello”.
The Room: The rooms are always very clean everytime I stay here, they have flat screen tv, iron, nice big desk, and usually a good view of Ayala mall from my window. And the bed is about the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, I want to steal their pillows!!!! haha
Extras: Free parking

Tip: Use outside laundry and use internet in the free wifi zones in the malls and restaurants, also, what I personally do is have the Smart Bro usb internet, there is also Globe Tattoo internet I’d suggest too, it’s VERY cheap to use internet with these 2 options.
Negatives: Laundry here is super expensive, and there are no outside laundry places within walking distance, so I had to take a taxi to some nearby random place. Internet here costs 960 pesos per 24hour period, which to me, is absolutely ridiculous!!! I’d highly advise you to use the free hotspots available many places in Ayala mall, like Bo’s Coffee and TGI Fridays
