SDR Apartments
Location: I don’t really like the location of SDR Apartments, it’s a bit away from things, you have to walk about 15 minutes to the nearest mall, Marina Mall, and that mall is not the greatest. Otherwise, when you look out the window of your room, there is not much but flatlands, trees, and I even seen some cows/caribou
Facilities:
The Staff: Was always very nice and kind
The Room: The room was great, big room, big bed, nice couch and tv area with dvd player, a kitchen with stove, a toaster oven, water boiler, fridge full of bottled water, also has cooking utensils, pots, pans, silverware, plates, bowls, just about anything you’ll need for cooking
Extras: FREE high-speed (fibre-optic) 4MB Internet via cable (not a slow and unsecured shared Wi-Fi), I didn’t use this, I was using my Smart Bro instead. I love how there are tons of bottled water in the fridge.
Tip: For quick and cheap food give Cora’s Eatery directly across the street
Negatives: When I stayed there my room was right next to an area of the building they were doing construction, I only stayed 1 night, but that next morning 8-11am early morning I wake up to drilling, pounding, LOUD noises of construction, I was in shock they would actually allow this at so early in the morning, it was insulting to me. I know places need repairs and construction, but I am very against morning hammering, any hotel, apartment or living quarters that do this gets BIG negative points from me. Loud hammering should only be done in afternoon
That’s a nice apartment damn! Would love to spend some months there partying around Mango Square and mallin’ at Robbinson’s !
SDR are awesome apartments. Why on earth would you use your smart bro, when SDR has 4mb of super fast internet for free???
Anyway, I am also surprised that it took you 15 minutes to get to the mall from SDR. It is no longer than a 5 minute walk. I have been staying there for 3 months so far and if it took you 15 minutes you need to see someone to help you walk. ; ) Furthermore, it is 1 minute by cab if you have problems with a 5 minute walk.
Location: Brilliant! How could you go wrong? 3 minutes from Airport, 5 minutes (walk) to marina mall. 10 minutes (walk) to Cebu Yacht Club, 5 minutes by cab to Golf course, 10 minutes to world class dive sites.
Regarding the noise. I have been here for 3 months and have not had an issue. They have awesome staff, and I am sure if they started construction near me that they would let us know in advance and ask if we were ok.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my awesome experience there. Oh yeah, the best part???? The price. Unreal value for money. I pay less than 1000 USD per mnth (including all electricity, water, cable, etc.) and the room shits all over any hotel room in Cebu.
Hey Derek, yea SDR Apartments are definitely a great choice, and I’d really hope that hammering was just a temporary thing.
Anyways, yes, the real value at SDR would really be seen for long term stay, that would rock!!!
Btw, something up with my computer, cant get online using ethernet cables, I have no idea why my comp wouldn’t allow wires, so it only goes with Smart bro or wifi, that is my own personal fault for that.
